At Cherished Companion, we understand how important it is to say goodbye in your own way and in your own time. That’s why we created our Farewell Room — a calm, private space surrounded by the beautiful countryside of our smallholding here in Glossop.

Cherished Companion farewell room

The Farewell Room can be used in several ways:

  • A final goodbye after euthanasia at the vet’s. If your pet has already been put to sleep and you or a family member didn’t have the chance to be there, you are welcome to spend some quiet, unhurried moments together here.
  • A gentle goodbye at Cherished Companion. If you would like your pet’s final moments to take place here, you can choose to have your own vet meet you in the Farewell Room, or we can arrange for one of our trusted, compassionate local vets to be here for you.
  • Private time together. Whether you come alone, as a couple, or with family, our Farewell Room gives you the space to reflect, hold your pet, share memories, and say goodbye with dignity and love.

Additional Charges

Delivery and Collection Charges:

We can arrange collection from your home or your veterinary practice at any time of day, 7 days a week.

When your companion is ready to come home, we can personally deliver them to your home, or you are welcome to collect from our premises.

Charges:

  • Within 5 miles – £10 (collection or delivery)
  • Outside 5 miles – £15 (collection or delivery)

Out of Hours Service

For collections or deliveries made outside our normal working hours, an additional call-out fee applies:

  • Monday – Friday after 7pm – £55
  • Saturday – Sunday after 4pm – £55
  • Bank Holidays (all day) – £70
  • Christmas Bank Holidays (all day) – £85

Same Day Cremation Service:

Please understand that we may not always have the availability to offer you a Guaranteed Same Day Cremation as this service is as expected in demand, however it is our policy to return your animal back to you as swiftly as possible. If same day cremation is requested and available, please be aware an additional charge of £60 is added for this service.

We work with various local vets to offer an at home service. We are also able to offer euthanasia in our farewell room.
